What better way to get fans ready for the playoff push than to decorate a Times Square shuttle with Rangers logos? Since of course, just about everybody in New York rides the subway.

An eccentric Penguins fan started a tradition of wearing a fake Hulk Hogan mustache at home games. Only, instead of referring to himself as a "Hulkamaniac," he calls himself a "Malkamaniac" in reference to star player Evgeni Malkin.

During the Flyers-Penguins game Sunday afternoon, Hartnell decided to have a little fun with the "Malkamaniac." Hartnell did Hogan's signature hand to the ear in the direction of the fan. He had to have known Wrestlemania XXVIII was on Sunday night, too.

That's what Tim Thomas and the Bruins are trying on Tuesday against the Lightning, giving Thomas a break and letting Marty Turco get his first start in a Bruins uniform. Tampa Bay is following suit, playing rookie netminder Dustin Tokarski in what NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is billing as a "backup battle."

Or he would be, if he wasn't too busy trying to find a backup for himself.

One of those players that heard his name floating around the rumor mill was Bruins goaltender, Tuukka Rask. However, Bruins President Cam Neely went on the Felger and Massarrotti Show on Tuesday afternoon to reiterate the team's belief in Rask being a core player for years to come.

According to Neely, the team never considerd trading Rask, saying, "I don't think you can have enough goaltending as you head into the playoffs -– enough great goaltending.

"Tuukka's a young kid we think he's gonna be a star in the league," Neely then went on to say. "We really believe in Tuukka."

Neely also did not shy away from discussing Rask's contract situation. After all, the young Bruins goalie is due to be a restricted free agent at the end of the year.

"I'm confident we'll re-sign him. I have no doubts about being able to re-sign Tuukka," Neely said.

It's not everyday you hear a team president talk that highly about a player who is about to become a free agent at the end of the year.

Garrett had planned to throw a salmon on the ice Saturday against his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, with Garrett no longer here, his father figured he might as well follow up on the plan in memory of his son against the Minnesota Wild.

The three men strapped vacuum-wrapped salmon to their chests and got ready for the game, according to The Daily News. With just a couple minutes left in the third period, Simpson grabbed the fish and threw it on the ice. The fans cheered immediately, while the announcers chuckled at the occurence.

Maybe the men created a new tradition similar to the one in Detroit of throwing octopi onto the ice.

Tuesday night, Philadelphia Flyer Claude Giroux was pushed in between the benches by Winnipeg Jets forward Jim Slater. Only this time, his stick went flying and actually broke the watch of commentator Mike Johnson.

Still no word if the highly paid Giroux will reimburse Johnson. Check out the video below.

Fans have seen Sidney Crosby shelved for most of the season, joining the likes of the Bruins' Marc Savard and Philadelphia's Chris Pronger.

Pronger's wife, Lauren Pronger, reports that her husband has seen no significant progress since she last spoke to reporters in January. Pronger, a six-time All-Star has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following a concussion he sustained in November.  

Mrs. Pronger says that her husband has dealt with serious bouts of depression while being away from the sport he loves. She declined to offer many details about her husband's struggles, but did say, "He is not himself and it's not in a good way."

Pronger is also apprently considering reaching out to Keith Primeau, the former Flyer who has been suffering post-concussion symptoms for six years.

"I just want him to get better," Lauren said. "He still has a long life to live, three kids and a wife and everything. Right now, we're just hoping for his health to come back. That is our priority."

Phil Kessel and both Daniel and Henrik Sedin were voted the easiest to intimidate among All-Star caliber players in the NHL, according to a recent Sports Illustrated poll. The results were based on 145 NHL players who responded to SI's poll, with Kessel leading the way.

The Maple Leafs forward received 15 percent of the vote to run away with the lead, while the two Canucks were voted on as a pair and came in second with eight percent.

Alexander Semin, Patrick Kane and Ilya Kovalchuk rounded out the top five, and the Sedins also received votes individually. Henrik edged out Daniel alone, coming in sixth place with three percent while Daniel tied for 17th by himself with one percent of the vote.

Surprisingly, Roberto Luongo did not break the top tier of easy-to-indimidate players. After his absence in big games all year long, maybe it's because the players don't think he's an All-Star?

In protest of the IIHF games being scheduled in Belarus for 2014, a Ukrainian feminist group who call themselves Femen recently went to IIHF headquarters in Switzerland and organized a game of street hockey, according to Yahoo's Puck Daddy. The twist? They played the game topless.

People are outraged with the IIHF for scheduling the world championships in Belarus because the country is accused of human rights violations under President Alexander Lukashenko. Many people have voiced their concern, including the Obama Administration. However, the Femen girls protested a little more creatively.

The girls reportedly braved the cold wearing unbuttoned jackets with nothing on underneath and, according to Russia Today, carried signs that said "Do not encourage dictatorship!" and "Slaves can't play hockey!"
