Video: Henry, Werner Full of Excitement for 2009 With most teams, spring training is an exciting time. With the Red Sox, it’s front-page news.

This year is no different, with the Red Sox hoping to rebound from falling just one game short of making the World Series in 2008.

Principal owner John Henry and chairman Tom Werner took some time to talk to Tom Caron at the Red Sox training complex in Fort Myers, Fla.

“The sense of excitement this year is palpable,” Henry said. “We have three great teams in the American League East this year — maybe the three best teams in baseball — so it’s really an exciting season this year.”

Werner echoed that sentiment.

“John and I start as fans,” Werner said. “Spring training is about rebirth and it’s about expectations and hopes. As a baseball fan, you suffer through a long winter and you start counting down the days until the opening of spring training and here it is and it’s so exciting to be here.”
