It took a little extra time Sunday night, but the stage for the quarterfinal round of the Hockey East Tournament was set.
Here's how the do-or-die Game 3's played out on Sunday:

Northeastern 3, UMass 2 (OT)

Everyone was shocked to see UMass take down the Huskies on Friday night. On Sunday, the Minutemen came close to eliminating Northeastern but fell just short.
Alex Tuckerman scored two goals — including the game-winner in overtime — to lift Northeastern over UMass to advance to the quarterfinal round of the tournament.
James Marcou and Matthew Irwin scored for UMass, while Ryan Ginand scored Northeastern's other goal.
With the win, the second-seeded Huskies will play UMass Lowell on Friday night at TD Banknorth Garden. The Huskies are 3-0-0 against the River Hawks this season.

Boston University 6, Maine 2

Colby Cohen, Brandon Yip, Joe Pereira, Corey Trivino, Zach Cohen and Nick Bonino tallied goals against Maine in the decisive Game 3 to advance to the quarterfinal round.
Spencer Abbott and Tanner House scored for Maine in a losing effort.
The top-ranked Terriers will face familiar foe Boston College on Friday night at TD Banknorth Garden. Though BU went 2-0-1 against BC this season, that won't matter, as these two teams will be ready for each other.
