Bruins fans will soon be able to listen to the Black and Gold all
season-long on a new FM station beginning this Fall thanks in part to
an extension between the Bruins and CBS RADIO.

On Thursday, August 13, “98.5 The Sports Hub,” will become the only
FM station of its kind in the Boston marketplace. In addition to being
the radio destination of the Bruins, it will also becoming the New
England Patriots’ radio home beginning in the 2009 season.

“This is an exciting day for not just Bruins fans, but for fans of all of Boston’s sports teams,” Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs
stated in a release on Tuesday. “For the first time in Boston,
listeners will have an all-sports station on the FM dial which will be
the home of the Bruins and the New England Patriots. CBS RADIO Boston
has truly been a great partner of the Bruins over the last 14 years and
we are thrilled to continue this partnership with them as they launch
their new Sports Hub venture.”

One day before the launch of “98.5 The Sports Hub”, MIX 98.5 will
change its dial location to 104.1 FM, to become MIX 104. This move
means that after 41 years on the air, 104.1 WBCN will be signing off.
“98.5 The Sports Hub” will be taking on current 104.1 disc jockeys Toucher and Rich, who will be heard on the morning drive.

“98.5 The Sports Hub” also plans to launch a sports website, www.985thesportshub.com.
