Toronto made a trade — not the Big Trade, but a trade, nonetheless.

According to FoxSports.com, the Blue Jays traded veteran Scott Rolen to Cincinnati in exchange for Edwin Encarnacion and Yonder Alonso, a 2008 first-round draft pick.

Rolen, who had a no-trade clause, approved the deal.

The third baseman, who is batting .320 with eight homers and 43 RBIs, played for Reds general manager Walt Jocketty in 2006, when they won a World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Rolen is under contract through 2010 and is owed $11 million.
