The latest NBA team du jour joining the quest for Glen Davis is reportedly the New Jersey Nets, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports.

The Nets, according to the report, still have their midlevel exception to offer, which the Celtics would likely not be able to match.

The report also says that the Celtics tried to negotiate a sign-and-trade with the Pistons that would have sent Davis, J.R. Giddens and Gabe Pruitt to Detroit in exchange for Jason Maxiell and a first-round pick. The Pistons reportedly shot that deal down quickly.
