Though the attention of most sports fans may have been on baseball's trading deadline over the weekend, the Patriots were actively making roster moves of their own.

The team announced the signing of rookie defensive back Jamar Love, as well as the signing of linebacker Rob Ninkovich and the release of linebacker Vince Redd.

Love, was released by the Patriots at the end of July after originally being signed as an undrafted free agent on April 30. The former Arkansas Razorback started six games in his senior year, recording 39 tackles and breaking up eight passes.

Ninkovich has played three seasons in the NFL, one with the Saints and two with the Dolphins. At 6-foot-2, 255 pounds, Ninkovich has spent much of his time in the NFL on practice squads.

Redd was originally signed by the Patriots in May of 2008, spending the early part of his rookie season on the practice squad before being activated on the 53-man roster. Redd played in five of the Patriots' final six games last season, recording two tackles on defense and six tackles on special teams.
