Rangers Sign Prospal to One-Year Deal

The Rangers agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent forward Vinny Prospal on Monday, Rangers president and general manager Glen Sather announced. According to Newsday, the deal is reportedly worth $1.1 million.

A four-time 20-goal scorer, Prospal scored 19 goals and 26 assists for 47 points in 82 games last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He became a free agent after the Lightning bought out the final three years remaining on his four-year deal.

Prospal, 34, has recorded 198 goals and 401 assists for 599 points in 874 career games with the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, Lightning and Anaheim Ducks. He has played in at least 80 games in seven consecutive seasons.
