Red Sox Owner Henry Won’t Be Quick to Comment on Ortiz Saga

Just like David Ortiz, Red Sox principal owner John Henry won't be quick to comment on the steroid allegations surrounding his prized slugger.

Henry told Boston.com the organization will not comment on the matter until after Ortiz speaks publicly. The designated hitter is reportedly part of a list of 104 major leaguers who tested positive for banned substances in 2003.

"I'm going to let David speak first," Henry told the Web site. "As soon as he speaks, then we'll have something to say."

Henry also indicated that he is unhappy with some of the press coverage surrounding Ortiz — and perhaps condemning him — telling the Globe, "I think some of the Globe's remarks are a little, um, early. Let's see what David has to say."
