Usain Bolt Sets Another Record, Winning 200 Meters at Worlds In a world championships meet marred (or made more interesting, depending on your interest in track and field) by a gender test of an alleged woman winning the 800 meters, Usain Bolt has solidified his standing as one of Earth's most dominant athletes, winning the 200 meters in Berlin on Thursday in world-record time.

On the eve of his 23rd birthday, the Jamaican sprinter took gold with a new record time of 19.19 seconds, topping the old mark he set at the Beijing Olympics last summer by 0.11 seconds. He broke his 100m world-record mark just four days ago by exactly the same margin.

"I am on my way to being a legend," said Bolt, who stuck out his tongue a la Michael Jordan and pointed to his time after the race.

"If Queen Elizabeth knighthooded me and I would get the title Sir Usain Bolt, that would be very nice," he continued.

Panama's Alonso Edward finished second on Thursday, 0.62 seconds behind Bolt. Wallace Spearmon of the United States took third.

With Thursday's victory, Bolt is now 5-for-5 in recent major sprint events including his 100, 200 and relay wins in Beijing and his two wins so far at the worlds in Berlin. But winning doesn't appear to be enough: In each gold-medal performance, he has also set a new world record.

"I was running my heart out," Bolt said. "I got my start right and that was the key."

Other competitors were flabbergasted by Bolt's second straight world-record run.

"Just coming out there, I'm just waiting for the lights to flash 'game over,' 'cause I felt like I was in a video game," said American Shawn Crawford, who finished fourth. "That guy was moving — fast."

After defending world champion Tyson Gay had withdrawn earlier in the week due to injury, Bolt's main competitor was the record time he'd set last summer in China. And as he's done all of his human opponents of late, he beat the clock, too.

"I definitely showed people that my world records in Beijing were not a joke," Bolt said.
