Wildcat Fever Spreads to Jets Camp

Jets rookie head coach Rex Ryan won’t be kissing any of Bill Belichick’s rings anytime soon, but he is putting good use to one of Belichick’s favorite football words: versatility.

And also reportedly taking a page or two out of the Miami Dolphins’ 2008 playbook, specifically the ones that destroyed the New England Patriots in Week 3 of last season.

According to NJ.com, the Jets have been practicing the Wildcat formation for much of Tuesday morning’s practice. Running back Leon Washington has been taking most of the direct snaps with the first-team offense, while former Missouri quarterback-turned-Jets wide receiver Brad Smith has been working with the twos.
