One Boston sports figure is making a run at the vacant Senate seat left by Ted Kennedy, but it isn't Curt Schilling.
Instead, Stephen Pagliuca, the co-owner of the Celtics, will make a run for the Senate, The Boston Globe and The Wall Street Journal report.
Pagliuca, who made his money as a private-equity investor, is reportedly assembling a campaign staff.
"We're putting a staff together so we can hit the ground running," one adviser told the Globe.

"Mr. Pagliuca would be following in the footsteps of Mitt Romney, his former boss at Bain Capital who left the firm to launch a political career in 1994 with an unsuccessful senate race against Mr. Kennedy. Unlike Mr. Romney, who became the governor of Massachusetts and a presidential candidate, Mr. Pagliuca is a longtime Democrat and contributor to the party."
