When Daisuke Matsuzaka takes the hill Friday night at McCoy Stadium, there is guaranteed to be fireworks.

That's because whether Dice-K gets shelled or spins a gem, the PawSox and McCoy Stadium are hosting fireworks after the Matsuzaka and company take on Syracuse at 6:15 p.m.

Matsuzaka is making is first appearance for the PawSox during his current 30-day rehab assignment. The righty pitched for the Portland SeaDogs, Boston's Double-A affiliate on Sunday but was lit up for five runs in his first inning of work against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

This isn't the Japanese hurler's first stint with Pawtucket this season. In May, Dice-K pitched three rehab games for the PawSox after coming off the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder strain. During this three-game stint, Dice-K went 0-1 with a 1.54 ERA.

In eight games started for the Sox this season, Dice-K has gone 1-5 with a 8.23 ERA.
