It was a knee-jerk year for Boston sports last season, with such superstars as Tom Brady and Kevin Garnett missing serious playing time due to respective knee injuries.

But Brady appears to have come full circle in his recovery, and the Celtics' All Star forward also appears to be on his way back to being 100 percent.

“Kevin looks good,’’ Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told The Boston Globe on Wednesday from the team’s practice facility in Waltham. “He’s in here working out every day. He’s doing his training, but he’s not playing full-court basketball yet."

But the C's aren't pushing their prized centerpiece — as anxious as KG is, the team is taking it slow and steady.

“We’re taking it as slow and as cautious as we can with him," Ainge added. "He’s anxious and he has a ton of energy, but I think he gets it. We don’t have bodyguards on him to keep him from working too hard. He’s on the program with the staff."
