Giants’ Secondary Banged Up for Season Opener

The Giants open the season on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, looking to defend their NFC East title. But for at least the first week of the season, it looks like the Giants defense might be lacking some key names.

According to the New York Daily News, cornerback Aaron Ross (hamstring) and cornerback Kevin Dockery (hamstring) sat out of practice on Thursday once again, leaving questions as to what the secondary might look like for the G-Men come Sunday.

Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News reported that Terrell Thomas was already told he will start opposite Corey Webster, which means Ross is definitely out against the Redskins, while Dockery's status remains unclear. If Dockery doesn't return to the practice field on Friday, then there will certainly be more cause for concern.
