Hockey East Doubleheader at Fenway Is Sold Out

Fenway Sports Group and the Hockey East Association have announced that the "Sun Life Frozen Fenway" Hockey East doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, is sold out.

"The public response to this event has been tremendous and it certainly reaffirms to everyone that interest in New England hockey is definitely at an all-time high," said Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna.

The first game of the doubleheader will be the women's game between Northeastern University and the University of New Hampshire at 4 p.m.

The second game will feature the last two national champions with Boston College and Boston University playing in the men's game at 7:30 p.m.

"We are eagerly anticipating this showcase of the best of college hockey before a sold out Fenway Park, and are truly humbled by the fans support of this historic event," said Fenway Sports Group president Sam Kennedy.

The BC-BU men's game will mark the 248th meeting in the all-time series between the city rivals. BU leads the series with a record of 123-106-17.

NESN will broadcast the men's game live from Fenway Park and also host a pregame and postgame show.
