Jets Treating Patriots Game Like Super Bowl If you thought Monday's Patriots game was exciting, just wait for Sunday's — according to some people, it's going to be the Super Bowl.

That's the attitude the Jets are taking, heading into a matchup in which Rex Ryan will abstain from any jewelry osculation and Bill Belichick will try to get his team an early lead in the AFC East.

"We're going to be playing this game like it's the Super Bowl," defensive lineman Kris Jenkins told the New York Post.

Nobody on the Patriots has compared Sunday's Week 2 matchup in the Meadowlands, but that's not to say that the Patriots are taking the Jets lightly. Just minutes after he watched Tom Brady lead his team to a thrilling 25-24 victory on Monday night, Belichick was already talking about the Jets.

"[We have a] quick turnaround down at the Jets this week — division game on the road," the coach said. "So we’re going to have to get ready here in a hurry, put this one behind us, learn from it, correct some mistakes and get ready to play the Jets. Obviously, they had a big win [Sunday] against Houston so it looks like they got it rolling pretty good down there. So we’ve got our work cut out for us."

While the game itself may turn out to be a victim of the hype machine that is the week between NFL action, the performance of both teams in Week 1 is enough to have reason to believe it may be a memorable few hours in New Jersey.

The Jets' rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez answered a lot of questions in his debut Sunday, while the Patriots looked awfully vulnerable against the Bills. Sanchez, of course, will be tested a bit more thoroughly on Sunday, however, as the Patriots' defense likely has a few more tricks up its sleeve than did that of Houston.

(Houston's defensive coordinator is Frank Bush. With all due respect to Frank Bush, who is Frank Bush? Sure looks like a nice guy, but a Super Bowl coach? I think not.)

So while there's no word yet on who the halftime performer will be or which day this week will serve as media day, the Super Bowl is coming. Good seats still available.
