Lane MacDermid, the Bruins' third pick in the 2009 draft (112th overall), was unable to skate in Sunday's workout in preparation for the team's rookie camp. He sustained a high-ankle sprain while working out with his junior club, the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL, the Boston Globe reports.

"I'm discouraged a little bit,'' MacDermid told the Globe. ''But it's important that I'm completely ready when I get back."

In 38 games with the Spitfires last season, MacDermid scored seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points and totaled 112 penalty minutes.
