Patriots Get to Work on Possible Replacements For Wes Welker, Randy Moss

Last week, we all saw what happens when Wes Welker has to sit out a game. This week, we may get to see what happens when Wes Welker and Randy Moss sit out.

But have no fear: New England worked out five wide receivers on Friday in case both of their top guys can't go against the Falcons on Sunday, according to The Boston Globe.

Moss and Welker are battling back and knee injuries, respectively, and are currently listed as questionable for Sunday's showdown in Foxborough. According to the Globe, the Patriots worked out Larry Beavers, Courtney Taylor and Chris Davis, and according to The National Football Post, they also worked out Anthony Armstrong and Will Franklin.

Taylor, 25,  spent the past two seasons in Seattle, where started four games and played in 14 total games. He registered 14 total receptions and averaged 9.7 yards per reception.

Beavers, a rookie from Division III Wesley College, was cut by Carolina earlier this season. Davis spent the last two years in Tennessee, playing in 17 games and registering 33 receptions for 299 total yards. Armstrong spent last season on the Dolphins practice squad and was cut in late August. Franklin, 23, spent 2008 with Kansas City and played in 13 games. He had seven receptions for 83 yards.
