The Patriots re-signed center Ryan Wendell to the practice squad on Thursday after he was waived by the team on Tuesday.

Wendell was let go Tuesday to make room for linebacker Prescott Burgess before being signed again. In order to make room for Wendell on the eight-man practice squad, the Patriots released tackle Patrick Brown from the practice squad.

Wendell was signed by the Patriots as a free agent out of Fresno State in 2008. He spent last season on the practice squad and made the 53-man roster for the start of this season. He played in the first two games of the season for the Patriots on special teams.

Brown was signed by the Patriots and assigned to the practice squad on Sept. 7 after being waived by the Panthers.
