He entered the game as one of the franchise's most promising rookie wide outs in decades, but in the fourth quarter, nothing was looking good for Hakeem Nicks.
A day later, however, Nicks received some good news as sources told the Star-Ledger that an MRI revealed no damage to the Lisfranc joint in his injured foot.
Nicks, the Giants' first round, 29th overall pick in this April's draft, left the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-17 win over the Redskins after the UNC alum was injured on a seven yard reception. In his NFL debut, Nicks was held to just two catches for 18 yards.
While X-rays came back negative, the rookie is expected to miss at least two weeks of action with what is being referred to as a 'sprained' foot.
"It's just a test that I'm going through right now with these little knick-knack injuries," Nicks told the Daily News. "Once I get past these injuries I'll be all right. I'm not going to say I'm worried about it because it's out of my hands at this point. It already happened. I can't get down on myself about it."
