Tom Cable Says Seymour Deal Still Has Issues, May Not Be Done

The New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders agreed on Sunday to a deal to send five-time Pro Bowler Richard Seymour to the West Coast.

Or did they?

According to Raiders head coach Tom Cable, it's not exactly a done deal. Cable spoke to reporters on Monday afternoon, citing "issues" that have yet to be worked out. Via ContraCostaTimes.com:

"Real quickly about the Richard Seymour issue. We have attempted to make a deal. There are some issues still between him and the Patriots that are being worked out. Hoping that will be resolved as quickly as possible. We know that the player wants to be here, but we have no control really over those issues. That’s really all I’m going to talk about it for now."

Cable added that he had spoken with Seymour and that the veteran defensive lineman said that he wants to be in Oakland. When asked how soon he'd like his newest player to report to Oakland in order to prepare him for the season opener, Cable said, "As soon as possible. That’s really the only way to answer that right now."

The Patriots announced the trade early on Sunday, while the Raiders still do not have anything posted on their Web site regarding Seymour.
