Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was unavailable for Wednesday night's win over the Orioles due to a slight groin strain.

According to the Journal News, Rivera first experienced the injury on Aug. 15 in Seattle, but it went away before returning on Tuesday night. He could miss the four-game series against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

“I feel good. I feel good," Rivera told the Journal News. "There is soreness in the groin. We’re just taking precautions but I’m OK.

Rivera pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings between Monday and Tuesday to earn two saves in the first
two games of the Yankees-Orioles series.

“I felt it a little bit yesterday therefore I wasn’t able to pitch today," Rivera told the Journal News. "But I wasn’t going to pitch today anyway. But like I said, everything is going to be fine. Nothing to worry about."

Rivera is
1-2 with a 1.78 ERA in 55 games this season. He has converted 38 of 39 save
opportunities.
