After falling awkwardly into the boards against the Islanders on Monday, defenseman Dennis Wideman is still out of the lineup with a shoulder injury, NESN.com's James Murphy reports. According to The Boston Globe, Wideman won't be traveling with the team on its road trip to Dallas and Phoenix this week.

Wideman will skate on his own over the weekend, and the plan is for him to join the team for Wednesday's game against Nashville at the Garden.

''I would just say you are missing a pretty good defenseman,'' head coach Claude Julien told the Globe when asked about Wideman's absence.

Wideman has one goal and one assist in four games for the Bruins this season, his third full season in Boston. Over the last two years, Wideman has missed just four regular-season games.
