The only downfall of the Rangers signing Marian Gaborik was his injury-riddled past. And 12 games into the season, the Rangers' dangerous sniper and the NHL's second-leading scorer's status is uncertain after being injured.

Reports say that the result of Gaborik's on-ice collision in the third period against the Coyotes on Monday is a knee injury, but the Rangers have yet to confirm exactly what the injury is. The only news on Gaborik is that the injury is apparently not related to any of his previous hip or groin injuries.

Head coach John Tortorella didn't say whether or not Gaborik will be available for Wednesday night's game against the Islanders after the star forward missed practice on Tuesday. But Tortorella did confirm that Gaborik has "a body injury."

Gaborik signed a five-year deal with the Rangers in the offseason worth $37.5 million. He has scored 10 goals and eight assists in 12 games this season.
