It appears as though Alex Gonzalez will be just fine after all.

Though an earlier report said tests were inconclusive, The Boston Globe is reporting that Gonzalez does not have a fractured wrist, according to a team source.

Gonzalez left Friday night's game after taking a Kerry Wood fastball off the inner part of his right wrist. In addition to shoring up the Red Sox defensively at shortstop, Gonzalez has posted a better-than-expected .285 batting average with 10 doubles and four home runs in 43 games with Boston.

Boston's options at shortstop for the playoffs beyond Gonzalez were few. Nick Green has not started in weeks because of a slipped disk that has caused bac kand leg issues, while Jed Lowrie still can't consistently bat from the left side of the plate due to lingering wrist issues.
