Heading into the postseason, a big story was the schedule, which has the World Series extending into November. The possibility of November games in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Denver had many up in arms.
As it turns out, October may be too late for baseball in Colorado.
The Rockies, who host Game 3 of their series with the Phillies on Saturday night, are expecting wintry conditions. The forecast calls for snow showers all day with temperatures in the low 30s.
On Sunday, when the Broncos host the Patriots in the afternoon, temperatures are expected to climb into the 50s, providing weather more suitable for baseball.
The Rockies and Phillies, however, won't get under way until after 8 p.m. local time, when temperatures again could dip into the 30s.
Pedro Martinez, who has had his struggles pitching in cold weather throughout his career, may be getting the start for the Phillies.
“I’ve been there,” Martinez told the New York Post. “I’ve been everywhere, so let’s see what happens. I will do whatever possible.”
