The Yankees made some last-minute adjustments to their World Series roster on Wednesday with first pitch set for 7:57 p.m.
The Yankees replaced Francisco Cervelli and Freddy Guzman on the postseason roster with Brian Bruney and Eric Hinske. Cervelli had been on the roster for the ALDS and ALCS, while Guzman was on for only the ALCS. Bruney was held off the roster the first two rounds, and Hinske was on for the ALDS before being removed.
Bruney went 5-0 with a 3.92 ERA in 44 games for the Yankees this season. In 39 innings, he struck out 26 and walked 23.
Hinske hit .226 with seven home runs and 14 RBIs in 39 games for the Yankees. He was traded to the Yankees from the Pirates on June 30, and will be playing in his third World Series in a row.
