If Brian Scalabrine treats the opposition the way he treated his teammates on Thursday, the league better watch out for No. 44.

Scalabrine, who has suffered from back problems this season, returned to practice on Thursday. After missing two of the last three games, he might have had a bit too much energy, as he sent Paul Pierce home with a bandaged face and gave J.R. Giddens a shot to the head, according to WEEI.com.

"It went great," Doc Rivers told the Web site about Scalabrine's return to practice. "He elbowed one guy in the head and hit another guy, so he's back. Scal's back."

The good news for the Celtics is that the injuries sustained to Pierce and Giddens aren't likely to keep them off the court, the report says.
