Brian Scalabrine's already limited participation for the Celtics this season is about to get even more limited.

After missing Tuesday's practice, the forward is likely to be out for Wednesday's matchup against Utah and Friday's showdown against the Hawks.

Scalabrine has suffered from injuries for much of the young season. He was held out of all action because of an ankle injury until a Nov. 3 win over Philadelphia. Since then, he played for four minutes against Minnesota and 20 against New Jersey before suffering back spasms which should keep him on the bench until at least Saturday.

Last season, Scalabrine averaged 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in about 13 minutes per game.
