The Indianapolis Colts have struggled on the ground this year, but they could get a boost for Sunday night's highly anticipated matchup with the Patriots. Rookie running back Donald Brown, who missed two games with a shoulder injury, is expected to play this week, according to The Indianapolis Star.
"As of now, I'm going," Brown told the newspaper.
Brown gained 58 yards on two carries in Week 7 against the Rams before leaving the game with the injury. The former UConn standout has rushed for 212 yards on 46 carries (4.6 YPC) this season, scoring two touchdowns and fumbling once. He's also been dangerous catching passes out of the backfield, collecting seven catches for 138 yards (19.7 YPC). With 30 percent of his touches resulting in first downs, he's been a valuable piece of the Colts' offense while splitting time with Joseph Addai.
"Donald looked good. Donald's very good," Colts coach Jim Caldwell told the newspaper.
The report also says that backup quarterback Jim Sorgi is unlikely to suit up, making rookie Curtis Painter the backup.
