If there's one positive that came from Glen Davis' decision to fight his friend, it's that he may have strengthened his left hand. With his right hand in a cast since October, Davis, a righty, has been using left hand much more.

"I've been writing a lot with my left hand, trying to get control and things like that," Davis told The Boston Globe. "Eating with my left hand. Doing a lot of things."

Davis also said he's been practicing dribbling with his left hand and working on a left-handed hook shot, additions that are sure to enhance the 23-year-old's game.

Davis told the Globe that he plans to have his cast removed on Dec. 2 and begin his work to rejoin the Celtics.

"I've been trying to stay consistent as far as keep burning [off weight]," he told the newspaper. "I am just trying to get a good sweat every day. Once I get my cast off, I will go even harder and try to get back into game shape."

Davis has been sorely missed by the Celtics, who have struggled by their standards with a 10-4 start. Davis proved to be extremely valuable as a starter in the playoffs last season, and with spotty play from Rasheed Wallace lately, Davis' absence from the Celtics' frontcourt has grown more noticeable.

"It's tough to watch the games, knowing that you can help, knowing that you could be the deciding factor of the game," he said. "It's tough man, so I am excited to get back and get this cast off and start helping my teammates out."

Davis averaged seven points and four assists in 21.5 minutes per game last year in the regular season before averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds in 36.4 minutes per game in the playoffs.
