There's good news and bad news for the Bruins as they prepare to take on the Blues in St. Louis on Monday night.
Center Marc Savard will be making his long-awaited return after missing over a month with a broken bone in his foot, according to The Boston Globe. Savard has been itching to get back on the ice since last week and will certainly help a team that has struggled offensively this season.
"It feels like you're a kid again," Savard said of finally returning to the Bruins lineup. "I just can't wait to get out there and get the game started. I've just got to remember to try not to do too much."
The bad news is that goaltender Tim Thomas will miss his fourth straight game with what The Globe calls a minor upper-body injury.
"It's one of those injuries that we have to allow him to get better," head coach Claude Julien told the newspaper. "Yet it could be something that could be cured on a day-to-day basis."
In Thomas' stead, backup Tuukka Rask has performed well, going 2-1 over the last three games and allowing just one goal in an overtime win against Buffalo on Friday.
