Winter is still nearly a month away, but it's never too early to start thinking about the spring. The Red Sox already have their plans in place, as their 2010 spring training schedule was announced on Tuesday.

The Red Sox will open the spring schedule against two collegiate opponents in the Northeastern Huskies and the Boston College Eagles. Those games will take place on Wednesday, March 3, with the Northeastern game beginning at 1:05 p.m. and the BC game starting at 6:05 p.m.

The next day, the friendly Mayor's Cup rivalry with the Twins will begin at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Fla., at 7:05 p.m.

The annual St. Patrick's Day game will be against the Mets at City of Palms Park, while the Red Sox will not face the Yankees at all in the spring.

The Red Sox will close out their Grapefruit League schedule on Friday, April 2, at home against the Washington Nationals before traveling to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., for an exhibition game on Saturday, April 3. The start time for Saturday’s game will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for 2010 will remain at the 2009 prices, and tickets for the Northeastern and BC games will be half price. The Red Sox have sold out every Grapefruit League game at City of Palms Park since March 16, 2003, including 15 games in 2009. Their Grapefruit League sellout streak is at 88 home games heading into 2010.
