Report: Winless Nets Set to Fire Head Coach Lawrence Frank It's a gross understatement that Nets' head coach Lawrence Frank isn't living up to the $4 million the club is paying him this season as he continues to lead the NBA's worst team to a historic blotch.

The Nets fell to 0-16 on Friday night and are one loss shy of tying the NBA record for most consecutive losses to open the season. The Nets take on the defending champion Lakers Sunday night and with a loss to Kobe Bryant and company, they will tie the 1989-99 Miami Heat and 1999-2000 L.A. Clippers for the worst opening stretch in NBA history.

Frank may very well take that record-tying defeat as part of his severance package as the team is prepared to fire the skipper on Sunday night, win or lose, according to Yahoo.

“Most of the guys have tuned him out,” one source with direct knowledge of the locker room environment told the Website. “This isn’t all Lawrence’s fault, but everyone knows that this can’t go on anymore.”
