All that talk about Perry Fewell being the Bills' coach for the rest of 2009? Seems like it could be baloney.
Buffalo owner Ralph Wilson has steadfastly claimed that the defensive coordinator will serve as head coach for the remainder of the regular season after Dick Jauron was shown the door last week, but according to ESPN.com, the Bills reached out to esteemed former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, only to be rebuffed.
Cowher allegedly told the Bills he is not interested in interviewing for the job right now. Reports also surfaced that Wilson was actively pursuing former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan as well, a report Wilson later dismissed.
Cowher, who retired in 2007 after spending 15 years with the Steelers, is reportedly very selective about which type of team he wants to coach and will not interview for a job he won't accept, even if it comes with a hefty payday.
A source told ESPN.com that Cowher will wait until the end of the season before he interviews for a job, and in the meantime, he will continue his broadcasting career.
