With six touchdowns on 84 carries and 246 yards in the last five games, Laurence Maroney is heating up in the Patriots' backfield and has stepped up as the go-to guy of the first-place team's ground attack. Despite these numbers, the Boston media isn't going to forget that the Pats' starter has fumbled the ball twice in as many games.

And Maroney didn't let it slide on Saturday as the Pats' running back ripped into a group of reporters just two days before New England travels down to New Orleans to take on the Saints.

"How many … media people have ever played running back? Raise your hand," he asked reporters according to WEEI.com. "So how can you really tell me how to do my job? How can you tell me I'm doing my job wrong, if you never did my job? Just like, how can I tell you how to write a story, if I never wrote a story on somebody? But the media does that, and the media is never wrong."
