The Act Is Up for This Week’s NFL Picks

The Act Is Up for This Week's NFL Picks There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide last week. As far as my game-day picks go, I looked worse than Roseanne Barr in a two-piece bathing suit.

Plenty of teams proved me wrong, but I still have to stick to my guns, and hopefully, this time around, I look better than Jay Cutler did against the 49ers on Thursday night.

Final: Bears (4-5) 6 at 49ers (4-5) 10
Five picks, Jay Cutler. Seriously? I guess having a stronger arm than John Elway can only get you so far.

Bills (3-5) at Titans (2-6)
Vince Young has shown that he can lead the Titans to victory. As for the Bills, well, they can’t seem to figure things out. Go with Young and the Titanic ones.

Saints (8-0) at Rams (1-7)
This looks to be the runaway game of the weekend. The Rams are playing for pride, so I have to select New Orleans. Geaux Saints.

Buccaneers (1-7) at Dolphins (3-5)
This is a battle of the Sunshine State. Despite the Bucs jumping into the win column, this contest belongs to the Fins and the Wildcat offense. Why don’t they call it the “Wild Fish”?

Lions (1-7) at Vikings (7-1)
Reports have Brett Favre as a game-time decision. The only decision Favre will be making on game day is to throw to Percy Harvin or hand off to Adrian Peterson. The Vikes are real good.

Jaguars (4-4) at Jets (4-4)
Rex Ryan is rallying the troops again. This time, however, I don’t think it’ll be enough, and I have to go with the Jags.

Bengals (6-2) at Steelers (6-2)
Aside from the obvious, this will be the best game of the week. I think Chad Ochocinco’s act ends right here. The Steelers are focused and ready. Go Pittsburgh.

Broncos (6-2) at Redskins (2-6)
No Clinton Portis means no win for Jim Zorn and the Bingo master. Josh McDaniels Fan Club submissions will be accepted all day Sunday.

Falcons (5-3) at Panthers (3-5)
I have a good feeling that Matt Ryan will separate himself from the average quarterbacks in the league this weekend. New Englanders already know his skill set, but Sunday will be his time to shine. Atlanta wins.

Chiefs (1-7) at Raiders (2-6)
Well, if Larry Johnson has a good … oops. Priest Holmes isn’t walking through that door. Although the Raiders aren’t a strong ballclub, the Chiefs are in disarray. JaMarcus Russell corrals win No. 3 on the season.

Cowboys (6-2) at Packers (4-4)
Packers fans, this is way different than Troy Aikman versus Brett Favre. With that being said, the outcome may still be the same. How about them Cowboys!

Seahawks (3-5) at Cardinals (5-3)
Kurt Warner is finally hitting his stride. The guy is a shoo-in Hall of Famer in my book. Plus, Matt Leinart is the best clipboard holder in the league. Cardinals all day.

Eagles (5-3) at Chargers (5-3)
This is a must-win game for both teams. However, in the end, the Eagles may be too much. I may regret this pick, but go with Philly.

Patriots (6-2) at Colts (8-0)
I made my prediction with NESN insiders Mike Reiss and Ted Johnson on Saturday night’s show. Gotta roll with the Blue and Silver with the 35-27 win over the Colts. There will be no “Meat Cut” at Lucas Oil Field on Sunday.

Ravens (4-4) at Browns (1-7)
Joe Flacco, do you need a cup of coffee or something. It’s time to wake up, and the Browns are the perfect team to do it against. Blackbirds will run wild on the lowly Browns.

So there you have it. Hopefully, my selections fare somewhat better this week. I mean, geez, last week an elementary schooler threw garbage at me when I was walking down the street. He said it was because of me that he lost his two chocolate milks and sloppy joe at the lunch table.

Not really, but that sounds funny doesn’t it?

Happy picking. See you next week.
