After missing out on Monday's skate due to a "maintenance day," Bruins center Patrice Bergeron returned to the Ristuccia Arena ice on Tuesday without a hitch.

B's fans last saw Bergie block Ottawa defenseman Filip Kuba's shot with his upper leg in the first period of Saturday night's shootout win at the TD Garden.

"I feel fine," Bergeron told ESPNBoston.com on Tuesday after the hour-long skate.

Bergeron stayed in the game following the blocked shot, but admitted to experiencing pain just above his knee. Arguably the B's top player through the first two months of the season, Bergeron blocked the shot while on the penalty kill — a role in which he's thrived since first donning the Black and Gold earlier this decade.

"To be honest, you're trying to do your job, to play your game, get in front of shots and obviously try to block it. But it's not always going to happen. I take pride in my defensive game, whatever it is," Bergeron said.
