Source: Adrian Gonzalez Will Be Dealt to Red Sox Within 10 Days The Red Sox’ front office is in the giving spirit this holiday season. Just ask Mike Cameron and John Lackey, who both unwrapped eight-figure contracts on Wednesday afternoon.

But don’t turn off the hot stove just yet, Red Sox Nation, because the club isn’t done shopping.

ESPN the Magazine’s Jorge Arangure reports, via Twitter, that a source close to Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez believes the slugger could be dealt to the Red Sox within the next 10 days.

According to FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, the two parties are working hard toward making the deal, but it still has a ways to go — mainly because of San Diego’s demands.

Jed [Hoyer] has been asking for a ton,” one source said in the report.

Targets on the former Red Sox assistant general manager’s radar are rumored to be outfielder Ryan Westmoreland, and pitchers Casey Kelly and Clay Buchholz — although Kelly is believed to be on Theo Epstein‘s untouchable list. Now that the Red Sox have signed Cameron, Jacoby Ellsbury is also listed as trade bait.

The 27-year-old Gonzalez is signed for $4.75 million next season with a $5.5 million club option for 2011.
