Free agent center fielder Mike Cameron has suggested that he would happily move to left field for the right team. That team could be the Red Sox, who are interested in the veteran, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.
Cameron, who will be 37 in January, is drawing interest from the Cubs and Yankees as well. Seattle could also be a possible destination for Cameron, who played in Seattle from 2000-03.
Cameron likely won't be picked up until after both Bay and Matt Holliday are off the market. Should both of these players escape Boston's grasp, Cameron could be a reliable safety pickup because he still has pop in his bat, despite his age. With 24 homers and 70 RBIs in 149 games last summer for the Brewers, the 15-year vet has proven that he can still get it done. He has averaged 23 homers, 82 RBIs and a .788 OPS per year over his career and has hit at least 21 homers and has driven in 70 runs in each of the last four seasons.
