The Boston Bruins and BJ's Wholesale Club will host the third annual PJ Drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons during "Kids Day" at the TD Garden on Jan. 18 prior to the Bruins-Senators game at 1:00 p.m.

Every Bruins fan who donates a new pair of pajamas will receive a Bruins night-light courtesy of TD Insurance. Each person who donates a pair of new pajamas will have the chance to win Bruins autographed memorabilia in a raffle.

Cradles to Crayons provides children 12 and under with “some of the most important basics of life — free of charge."

"During these difficult economic times many families are struggling to provide even the very basic items for their children. Cradles to Crayons has experienced close to a 30 percent rise in demand for services," said Lynn Margherio, founder and CEO of Cradles to Crayons. "Often, something as simple as a new pair of pajamas can feel out of reach for a struggling family. Thanks to the Boston Bruins and BJ's Wholesale Club, thousands of disadvantaged kids across the state will be warm and cozy when they go to sleep."

Bruins defenseman Dennis Wideman kicked off the third annual PJ Drive on Jan. 11 with a visit to BJ's Wholesale Club in Stoughton, Mass. Wideman donated $1,000 worth of pajamas while also signing autographs and taking photos with everyone who brought a new, unused pair of pajamas.

Massachusetts students grades K-5 are invited to register their school for the pajama drive for the chance to win an in-school ice cream party with Blades, the Bruins mascot, courtesy of BJ’s Wholesale Club.

A pajama drive competition is being held for participating Massachusetts youth hockey teams as well. The youth hockey team that collects the most pajamas for the PJ drive wins a one-hour hockey clinic hosted by Bruins alum Tommy Songin.

Families, schools and corporations are encouraged to make donations to help underprivileged children in Massachusetts. The PJ Drive runs until Feb. 12.
