Make sure to get your skates sharpened, Bruins fans, because the month of February is your chance to hit the ice for a great cause and earn the chance to meet one of the greatest Bruins players of all time.

Beginning the weekend of Jan. 30 and continuing throughout the month of February, the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care are hosting the First Annual "Neely SK8 Challenge" skate-a-thon.

The fundraiser will help raise funds for children battling cancer and their families and all fans have to do is do what New Englanders do best: ice skate.

Every skater raising $50 will receive an official "Neely SK8 Challenge" T-shirt and the individual raising the most money at each of the participating rinks will receive an official Cam Neely autographed jersey.

The top four skate-a-thon fundraisers will receive four tickets to a Bruins game, where they will sit in a private suite and meet Neely. In addition to the tickets, the highest fundraiser will have the opportunity to high-five the Bruins team as they take the ice, ride on the Zamboni and receive autographed Bruins memorabilia.

Fans can register to skate at one or more of 23 participating rinks and can create their very own personalized fundraising page.
