CALGARY, Alberta – Curtis Glencross scored the go-ahead goal on a power play midway through the second period and added an empty-netter in the Calgary Flames' 3-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 on Saturday night.
Jarome Iginla had a goal and two assists, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 24 saves to help the Flames extend their winning streak to four games. Jason Blake scored for Toronto. The Maple Leafs have lost five of their last six games.
After Blake opened the scoring for Toronto in the first period, Calgary scored twice in 52-second span in the second and outshot the Maple Leafs 18-7 in the period.
Iginla tied it at 10:35, capping off an eventful sequence that began after Toronto defenseman Mike Komisarek lost the puck in a collision with Iginla in front of the Maple Leafs' net. Daymond Langkow pounced on the turnover, letting go a dangerous shot that goalie Jonas Gustavsson only got a piece of. The puck was about to bounce into the net when Toronto defenseman Tomas Kaberle failed to clear the puck off the goal line, knocking it right onto the stick of Iginla for his 21st goal.
Glencross gave the Flames the lead at 11:27 on a power play.
Iginla slipped a pass out to Glencross at the top of the faceoff circle and Glencross snapped a shot past Gustavsson on the glove side.
