Report: Savard Out Minimum Two to Three Weeks With Knee Injury Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard left Thursday night’s game against Chicago in the first period with a right knee injury. Savard will underwent an MRI on Friday morning in Boston to determine the extent of the injury, but as of 4:30 p.m., no official results had been released by the Bruins. However, as TSN's Darren Dreger pointed out on Leafs Lunch, when an MRI is done, the minimum amount of time missed is usually two to three weeks.

The Bruins are expected to make an announcement about Savard's status sometime on Saturday, according to Boston.com.

Savard got tangled up against the boards in the first shift of Thursday night's eventual 5-2 Bruins loss. He was helped off the ice, and the team announced that he wouldn't return.

Savard has nine goals and 13 assists this season. He also missed 15 games early in the season because of a broken left foot.

The Bruins are also missing Patrice Bergeron (broken thumb) for two weeks, Andrew Ference (groin) for six weeks, Mark Stuart for approximately two more weeks and Byron Bitz (back) who will not play Saturday against the Rangers. On Friday the team recalled Trent Whitfield from Providence.

The Bruins did get some good news Thursday as Milan Lucic returned to the ice for the first time since spraining his left ankle on Nov. 25.

Here's what the lines and defensive pairings looked like at practice on Friday.
