Michael Ryder Earns Arbella Player of the Week Honors It wasn't a great week for the Bruins by any means, but they looked a whole lot better on Thursday night than they did on Monday afternoon.

Part of that had a lot to do with Michael Ryder, who beat Steve Mason and found the back of the net early on Thursday against Columbus to put the Bruins up 1-0 in the first period. It wasn't enough to win the game, but it helped earn Ryder the honors for Arbella Player of the Week.

Ryder helped make up for Monday's disappointment with an inspired effort on Thursday, as he finished the night with four shots on goal, a blocked shot and a hit in 16:42 of ice time. It was the type of goal that Ryder scores on occasion that reminds everyone what he's capable of doing with the puck. Now, the onus is on him to find a way to get hot and slam that point home.
