The Red Sox have escaped salary arbitration once again.
On Tuesday, Boston agreed to terms with outfielder Jeremy Hermida on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract for 2010.
According to The Boston Globe, the deal is worth $3.345 million, a raise from Hermida's $2.25 million salary in 2009.
Boston acquired the outfielder, who turns 26 on Jan. 30, from the Marlins on Nov. 5, 2009. Hermida hit .259 with 13 homers and 47 RBIs in 129 games with Florida last season, and he set a career high with 56 walks. His fielding percentage of .995 was sixth-best among all qualifying NL outfielders.
Hermida appeared in only three games after Aug. 31 because of an intercostal strain on his right side.
Hermida was the last arbitration-eligible player to remain unsigned by the Red Sox.
