The 2010 Red Sox Road Trip has been extended to include stops in Lee County, Fla. — where Boston’s spring training home in Ft. Myers is located — from Jan. 29-31.

The Red Sox Road Trip is a tour that includes Wally the Green Monster, the 2004 and 2007 World Series trophies, various giveaways and special ticket offers. Originally, the tour was scheduled to visit parts of all six New England states from Jan. 20-25, but it will now include five stops in Lee County as well.

The Road Trip will visit The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in Ft. Myers and the Pueblo Bonito Boys and Girls Club in Bonita Springs on Jan. 29, the Edison Mall and Gulf Coast Town Center in Fort Myers on Jan. 30, and City of Palms Park in Fort Myers on Jan. 31.

The events at Edison Mall and Gulf Coast Town Center will give fans a chance to have their pictures taken with Wally and the trophies and to receive a special offer for spring-training tickets.

The next day at City of Palms Park, fans will be able to get free autographs from top Red Sox prospects, a 25 percent discount at the Red Sox Team Store with the purchase of any spring-training tickets and free ballpark tours.

“Lee County and its citizens are an integral part of Red Sox Nation,” said Red Sox vice president of business affairs Jonathan Gilula, “and this is a chance for us to show them our appreciation, thank them for their patronage and salute them for their dedication and loyalty.”
