Here's a move you probably didn't see coming: According to Boston.com, the Celtics have waived Lester Hudson, their second-round pick from the 2009 NBA draft.

With the deadline hovering for Boston to guarantee his contract for the remainder of the season, the Celtics chose to waive Hudson — but that doesn't mean his career with the Green is over. If he clears waivers, Hudson could be signed to a 10-day contract.

Before Hudson was waived on Wednesday, he made the trip with the team to Miami and even participated in the morning shootaround in preparation for a matchup against the Heat.

Hudson has played in 16 games with Boston in 2009 and has averaged 1.4 points.
