Route 1 is going to get some serious Saturday traffic beginning this fall.

The University of Massachusetts and the University of New Hampshire football programs have agreed to play two games at Gillette Stadium beginning this fall on Oct. 23 with UNH serving as the home team, according to the Boston Globe. In 2011, the teams will meet again at the home of the Patriots with UMass serving as the home team.

"UMass supporters everywhere can be excited about our 2010 schedule," second-year coach Kevin Morris told the Globe when the schedule was released.

There have been rumors that Boston College was exploring the idea of hosting UMass at the stadium, as well as Notre Dame.
